AUTODESK ALIAS 3D MODEL & REVERSE MODELLING

THIS PROJECT CONSISTS OF A 3D MODEL OF A PRODUCTION CAR FROM TOYOTA; SPECIFICALLY KNOWN AS THE COROLLA HATCHBACK FROM THE YEAR 2019. THIS PROJECT IS NOT SPONSORED BY THE BRAND AND IS COMPLETELY A PERSONAL PRACTICE OF THE USE OF THE 3D MODELING SOFTWARE. THIS 3D MODEL WAS MODELED IN ITS ENTIRETY BY ME AND WAS COMPLETELY MADE WITH ALIAS AUTO STUDIO.

THIS PERSONAL PROJECT WAS MADE USING SCANNED PIECES FROM THE REAL CAR AND SEVERAL IMAGES AS REFERENCES FOR BUILDING MISSING ELEMENTS AND DETAILS. A BLUEPRINT WAS USED TO FINISHED THE MAIN VOLUME AND KEY  ELEMENTS WHEN THE SCANNED PARTS DID NOT GIVE THE NECESSARY INFORMATION.

REVERSE
MODELLING

AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE NEXT IMAGES, THE SCANNED ELEMENTS WERE JUST GIVING INFORMATION ABOUT THE FRONT AND REAR PART OF THE CAR. ALL THE ELEMENTS IN THE COCKPIT AREA OF THE CAR WERE COMPLETELY MISSING.

 

IN THE FRONT AREA, THE SCANS CONTAINED ALL THE DETAILS AND MAIN ELEMENTS OF THE CAR; SUCH AS THE BONNET, FENDERS, BUMPER, GRILLE, AND THE COVER OF THE LAMP.

 

MEANWHILE, IN THE REAR AREA OF THE CAR, THE SCANS WERE GIVING INFORMATION ABOUT THE TRUNK DOOR, SPOILER, FENDERS, BUMPER, REAR DIFFUSER, EXHAUST PIPES, AND THE COVER OF THE LAMP.

 

AS MENTIONED BEFORE, ALL THE MISSING ELEMENTS WERE BUILT BY USING IMAGES AS REFERENCE; AND CONNECTING THEM WITH THE REVERSE MODELLING PARTS ALREADY DONE.

 

FOR THE INTERIOR OF THE FRONT AND REAR LAMP AND ALL THE DETAILS OF THE CAR, REFERENCE IMAGES WERE USED.

• COMPARISON BETWEEN THE ALIAS MODEL AND THE SCANS ELEMENTS.

• FOR THE MISSING SCANS ELEMENTS, REFERENCE IMAGES AND A BLUEPRINT WERE USED.

PATCH LAYOUT & SURFACE ANALYSIS

• FINAL WIREFRAME & COMPLETE RADS AND DETAILS.

• PERFECTING REFLECTIONS & TWEAKING  SURFACE FLOW.

SURFACE ANALYSIS 

SURFACE EVALUATION

• SMOOTH FLOWING AND UNIFORM REFLECTIONS ON THE SURFACES.

• MULTIPLE DIAGNOSTIC SHARERS WERE USED TO ANALYSE THE SURFACE TREATMENT.
